The last words of Rom. Alex. III 35, containing the dates of Alexander’s birth and death, are problematic from both codicological and chronological points of view. This article proposes, for what concerns the day of death, maintaining the text of the manuscript instead of correcting it as it is commonly accepted by the scholarly tradition; and reading Payni instead of Tybi as the month of the king’s birth.
