On the basis of the information provided by P. Oxy. 2506 fr. 26 col. I 1-12, this paper focuses on a vexata quaestio concerning Stesichorus: whether he composed one or two poems entitled Παλινῳδία. It suggests a new supplement (λεγομένη, scil. παλινῳδία), explores the possible meaning of the participle λεγόμενοϲ (as well as of καλούμενοϲ) with regards to book titles by comparing different literary sources, and suggests explanations for its function in this passage.
