On Late Antique lexicon in the strategy of political communication: balance between the use of clementia, misericordia and sapientia.
We propose an analysis related to some concepts that represent a certain kind of virtue or behavior in the Late Antique lexicon. Certains virtues and words in Late Antiquity seem to be characterized by a subtle ambiguity and used in a flexible way by authors such as Ammianus and Orosius. Our focus is on the term sapientia, starting from the consideration that this term and this virtue is inserted among the virtues of the good princeps.
Keywords: sapientia, misericordia, dialectis of power, lexicon in Late Antiquity, Orosius, Ammianus Marcellinus.
