A reconsideration of the text of the so-called Origo gentis Romanae sheds new light on the editorial changes that this pamphlet underwent. The original conclusion appears to have been omitted by the compiler of the Corpus tripertitum to remove any thematic overlap with the De viris illustribus, while three similarities between the legatura (a short passage linking the first two works of the Corpus tripertitum) and the beginning of the Origo enable us to ascribe to him a rewriting of the latter.
