La Liguria, a partire dagli anni Novanta, è stata attraversata da diversi flussi migratori. Prima gli albanesi, seguiti dai marocchini e, successivamente, nei primi anni Duemila arrivarono i sud americani, provenienti in maggioranza da Ecuador, Brasile e Perù. A quasi vent’anni di distanza dalla prima ondata migratoria che li ha riguardati, i peruviani si distinguono per l’integrazione e l’inserimento all’interno della realtà genovese. Essi infatti costituiscono un gruppo attivo dal punto di vista culturale, fortemente legato al territorio: a Genova sono presenti luoghi di ritrovo, locali e ristoranti tipici nonché sono molto sentite le ricorrenze nazionali. Dopo una fase iniziale con una impostazione metodologica classica volta a costruire un database statistico particolareggiato dei peruviani nel capoluogo ligure e ricostruire e interpretare i legami tra Genova e Perù, il contributo approfondirà alcuni aspetti relativi a come i peruviani lavorino, vivano, risiedano e contribuiscano ai processi di modificazione dello spazio sociale all’interno della città. A tale scopo, durante la ricerca sul terreno, verrà utilizzata in prevalenza la metodologia qualitativa, privilegiando le interviste semi-strutturate e, eventualmente, i percorsi di shadowing, che saranno accompagnati dall’osservazione partecipante. New Forms and Spaces in the Urban Reality of Genoa: the Peruvian Experience Since the 1990s, Liguria has been crossed by different migratory flows. First the Albanians, followed by the Moroccans and then, in the early 2000s, the South Americans arrived, mostly from Ecuador, Brazil and Peru. Almost twenty years after the first wave of migration that concerned them, the Peruvians stand out for their integration within the Genoese reality. In fact, they constitute an active group from the cultural point of view, strongly linked to the territory: in Genoa there are meeting places, typical clubs and restaurants, as well as national celebrations which are deeply felt. After an initial step with a classical methodological approach aimed at building a detailed statistical database of the Peruvians in the Ligurian capital and at reconstructing and interpreting the links between Genoa and Peru, the contribution will deepen some aspects related to how the Peruvians work, live, reside and contribute to the processes of modification of the social space within the city. For this purpose, during the research on the field, it will be mainly used the qualitative methodology and its privileged tools, such as semi-structured interviews and, eventually, shadowing paths, which will be accompanied by the participant’s observation and the logbook.
