Language geography in the Italian football: a demolinguistic analysis.
This paper aims at illustrating the dynamics of language geography in the Italian football. Considering the high percentage
of international mobility of football players, the research focuses on the effects of the plurilingualism generated by this type
of international migration. First of all the work aims at mapping the nationalities and official languages of foreign players
using statistical data. Secondly the paper explores the language repertoire of foreign players based on the international
mobility during their football carrier. Finally the work deals with the analysis of the visibility and vitality of languages in
the stadia focusing specifically on official and technical sponsors of the Italian football teams.
